My recent travels have taken me to Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong.
From an economic standpoint, China seems like America would have been in its heyday, let's say the 1920s. It has a tremendous entrepreneurial spirit. Individuals are free to succeed any way they can plus keep the spoils (as long as you don't criticize the government). China is very exciting and full of energy.

I have read/heard that the current business climate, in China, is much like the United States was at the beginning of the industrial revolution. Imagine if we had the experience of others before that, as China does now. They can learn from all of the technology that is available and also from the mistakes we and the Europeans made at the beginning of the 20th century.
